Clay and Kourtnee's Wedding

This past weekend we celebrated Clay and Kourtnee's wedding.  We had an amazing time and we are so happy for both of them.  Friday night we celebrated at the rehearsal dinner at Paesano's on the Riverwalk.  I love Paesano's!  Tinsley slept through the whole rehearsal dinner. Saturday the wedding took place at the Lone Star Palace on the rooftop which overlooks the Alamo.  It was absolutely beautiful.  We had a great time!  Here are a few pics from the weekend.

Mady the Dinostar!

Tonight Tinsley and I went to watch all of the kindergarten classes in Gonzles perform in the Dinostars.  Mady was of course the prettiest Dinostar of all.  I was so impressed with how great all of the kids performed.  It was adorable.  I did not get any pictures of the show, but I did get a picture of our little Dinostar!!!

Tinsley has started trying to mimic us.  If you stick your tongue out at her, she will stick hers out.  She thinks it is so funny when we make noises.  She already has such personality :-)

Road Trip

This past weekend Toby, Tinsley and I hit the road!  We had a great time.  First stop was in Abilene to see Toby's grandmother, Mama T.  Mama T is 93 years old and has been living in a nursing home in Abilene for the past few years.  We were so excited to get to introduce Tinsley to Mama T.  We had a great visit with Mama T and Toby's Aunt Susan and Uncle George.

The next morning, we got up and headed to Lubbock for Whitney's final home basketball game.  We can't believe that she is alreay a senior!  We are so proud of you Whitney!

On Sunday morning, we got up and left Lubbock.  We stopped often to let Tinsley get out of her car seat to eat and to stretch out.  One of the stops we made was by these wind turbines. Toby and I have always been curious how loud they are.  They are not super loud, kind of sound like a washing machine.  They are huge!

Our final stop of the trip was in Blanco to introduce Tinsley to Toby's great uncle Harold and great aunt Florine.  Harold is Mama T's brother.

We had a great weekend, but as always, it was great to get back home!  Tinsley could not have been a better traveler.  She slept pretty much any time the car was in motion.  We figure we will get her used to hitting the road early :-)

Two Month Checkup

Mom and I took Tinsley for her 2 month checkup today.  She is doing great!  She weighs 12 lbs 6 oz and is 24 inches long.  Her head circumference is 16".  She is in the 86th percentile on both weight and height and the 82nd percentile on her head circumference. We are so thankful to have such a healthy little girl!  We discussed the fact that she is so congested with the doctor as well as the projectile vomiting and the tendency for her skin to be so sensitive.  The doctor seems to think that the congestion is related to a little bit of reflux.  She suggested that we try a new formula that is out that has rice cereal in it as she thinks that may help to settle her stomach which would in turn help the reflux, which she thinks will help the congestion.  She sent us home with a sample, so we will try it out.  I am still having trouble with the idea of giving her formula.  She has been doing so good with the breast milk.  So, we will have to see how it all works out.  Tinsley was such a little trooper- she got her ears pierced and got 3 shots!  They pierced her ears first and then gave her the shots.  Mom held her while they pierced her ears.  I just couldn't do it.  I am not fond of needles at all and have a bit of a tendency to get a little bit woozy.  It is a good thing that mom was there or else I swear Tinsley might just have one ear pierced.  She got really upset.  We got to hear a brand new scream out of her that we had not heard before.  She was SUPER MAD!!!!  She has been doing great this evening.  We gave her tylenol right before she had the shots and she had some more this evening.  She was a little bit fussy this evening, but so far she has not had any fever.  I am so glad that today is behind us.  She looks so sweet with the earrings.  I am including a picture from today after we left the doctors office.  It is a little bit fuzzy as it was taken with my camera phone.  Mom had Tinsley calmed down and asleep before we even left the parking lot of the doctors office.  It was so sad- she got so upset that she was still sobbing in her sleep for a little while after.  She is so sweet, we hate to see her upset.  I am already dreading the 4 month shots :-(

2 months old!

Tinsley is 2 months old!  She goes to the doctor on Wednesday for shots and to get her ears pierced.  We can’t believe how quickly the past two months have gone by. 

A few things about Tinsley at 2 months:

-         She is eating 4-6 ounces every 3-4 hours during the day.

-         As of last week, takes her last bottle around 9 p.m. and then sleeps until around 4 a.m.  She will normally take a bottle and then go back to sleep for another 2-3 hours after that!

-         Had her first 4 oz. of supplement formula tonight.

-          LOVES her swing!

-         Takes a nap in the afternoons for about 2-2 ½ hours- normally in her swing.

-         Still loves her bath.

-         Smiling at us more and more- we can’t get enough!  Sometimes when we start laughing, she will start laughing.

-         Wearing size 1 diapers

-         Wearing size 3 month clothes EXCEPT for sleepers with the feet in them.  Tinsley is in 6 month sleepers because she is so long!!! 

-         Enjoys laying on her activity gym mat and playing for a little while.  She seems to especially enjoy looking at herself in the mirror that is on the side of the gym.

-         Tinsley is very active and very strong!  She is constantly moving and does not seem to want to miss anything.  She will turn her head and follow voices.  She seems to really follow here daddy’s voice more than others.

-         Still sleeping in her nap nanny beside mommy and daddy’s bed.  I love having her so close to me and hearing her sweet sounds all night long.

Tinsley spent the night with grandmom and granddad last night so that mommy and daddy could go to the rodeo.  She did great!  Of course, she took Eagan along with her.  Here is a pic that mom texted me while we were at the rodeo.  Talk about the life!

Tinsley had to go to the doctor yesterday.  She has not been sleeping well.  Every time we lay her down to sleep, she wakes up within 15 minutes.  She has been grabbing at her ears, so we figured we better get it checked out.  Her ears are clear and the doctor thinks it is just major congestion.  I am afraid she will be an allergy sufferer like the rest of us.  The doctor said to continue using her nasal spray and to not let her sleep flat on her back.  So, last night we used her "nap nanny".  She slept great!!!  We were in shock. She slept for 7 hours straight!  I kept waking up checking to make sure she was okay.  After she woke up, she took her bottle, burped and I changed her.  She was back asleep within an hour and 15 minutes and slept for another 2 1/2 hours.  She would normally be awake for at least 2 hours when she wakes up in the middle of the night.  What a great night!  We really hope that keeping her elevated continues to help her breathing so that she can rest more comfortably.  She is growing so quickly.  She now weighs 12 1/2 lbs. and is 24 inches long.  She is growing like a weed!  Here is a quick pic of our happy little one from yesterday.
