Tinsley at 18 months

I have not been very good about documenting Tinsley on a month to month basis as I did the first year.  :-(  I do want to document a few things about what you love and what you do at 18 months.

-  Eagan is still your all-time favorite!  Now that you can climb, he can't really get away from you.  You climb onto the bed/couch/his bed(basically wherever he is) to love on him.  You love to cuddle up to him and you normally say "Ohhh" while doing it.

-  Speaking of climbing, you climb onto EVERYTHING!  I can no longer leave your high chair open.  The other day we were in the kitchen- I literally turned around for 15 seconds, and when I turned back around you had climbed up into your high chair and were standing in it.  You climbed onto Mom-Mom and DD's kitchen table the other day and you can also quickly climb into the barstools in the kitchen.  Mom-Mom says that if they need a new actress for any upcoming Spiderman movies, you should be a shoe-in. ;-)

-  You love to go,go, go!!!  Your favorite place to go is to check cows with Daddy. You also love to feed the horses and dogs.  You are so funny when Mom-Mom and DD get to the house.  You will not let them out of your sight as you always want to go with them.  You also are constantly telling us "bye-bye" anytime you have a bag in your hand or bracelets on your arm.

-  You love shoes.  You can often be found in my closet trying on shoes or dragging shoes out of your closet.  You are also super helpful to bring us our shoes no matter what we are doing.  For instance, the other day right after we woke up, and were cuddling in bed, you climbed out of bed and brought me my flip-flops.  Definitely shoes that would go great with my nightgown!  It should be noted that even though you seem to love shoes, you do get quite irritated by our choice in shoes for you.  You often think your "crocs" would go with anything other than the sandals, tennis shoes, or other adorable shoes we have to go with the particular outfit you are wearing that day.

-  You are a dancing fool!  You LOVE the song "Springsteen" by Eric Church.  A portion of the song says "whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa" which you sing along to and normally bob your head and spin in circles.   You are also a big fan of the Miley Cyrus song "Party in the USA".  (This is one of your aunt Whitney's old favorites too)

-  You definitely let us know when you don't want to do something.  You shake your head and move both hands across your body letting us know it is a definite "no".  The other day you even added the words "no, no, no" to the gesture.

-  You do not like getting dressed or doing your hair.  This is normally a big challenge.  You are so funny though- because normally as soon as you get dressed and have your hair done you will turn in circles and even kind of "pose" as we tell you how pretty you look.  You are a mess!

-  You can identify your eyes, ears, nose, mouth when you choose to.  You can also identify other peoples body parts.  You are not too big on doing any of this on command as you are normally WAY too busy to slow down and show those of us who are apparently not smart enough to know where these body parts are where they are located at once again. ;-)

-  You have been doing pretty good sleeping in your big girl bed.  Mommy, however, has not been doing very good at putting you in there.  Daddy has been gone quite a bit over the past few weeks and I have to be completely honest- when he is gone, I love having you cuddled up in bed with me.  I know that many people who read this will likely think- BIG MISTAKE!!!  That is okay- all are entitled to their own opinion, but for now I am going to enjoy having you cuddled up next to me as much as I can.  I know that very soon you will be way too cool for this.  You have been going to sleep between 9:30-10 and normally wake up around 4, drink a little bit of pediasure and then go back to sleep until between 7-8 a.m.  If you don't wake up at 4, you are normally awake and raring to go by 6 or 6:30.  You are definitely your daddy's little girl- an early riser!

-  We are still working on breaking the bottle habit.  We have tried every sippy cup and straw cup known to mankind.  You will drink water and apple juice out of these cups, but you have zero desire to drink your milk/pediasure out of them.  I think that quite often you want the bottle more as a "pacifier" than for what is in it.  You never took a pacifier, but I think the bottle habit might be easier to break if you had.  Oh well, then we would be dealing with 2 bad habits to break!

-  You have started noticing that mommy's tummy is growing.  You had not really paid much attention previously and when we say something about your little brother and point at my tummy, you just look at us.  A few days ago, I was rocking you and my belly apparently got in your way.  You looked at me, lifted up my shirt, pointed at my belly, and gave me this look like "Mom, you need to do something about that".  Bad news little girl- it's just gonna get bigger!!!

Tinsley, you are such a joy!  The past 18 months have just flown by.  What did we do for fun before you?!?!?!??

Gymnastics

I signed Tinsley up for babynastics.  We started a few weeks ago and I figured she would love it.  We got her a super cute leotard and she seemed really excited about it.  She LOVED the trampoline and did not want to do anything else.  My super pregnant and tired self gave it up after a few weeks.  It is supposed to be fun for her and obviously was not.  I think she is too young at this point.  During our second week, at one point she was literally laying on the floor crying at the balance beam station saying "Jump!!!!"  We have decided to just get a trampoline for the house for now and try gymnastics again after she turns 2.  Here are a few pics for documentation purposes.

Mom Mom and Aunt Sherri came to cheer her on.
Tinsley was really excited and ready to pose for her "fan club" :-)

Such a mess!

Turn your head for 2 seconds and this is what you get. Tinsley was "helping" me put clothes away in the closet. I turned around to hang stuff up and the next thing I hear is the commode lid open. I say "Tinsley what are you doing?". Response is a big time giggle and this is what I find :-)
